Vintage Juliana White Lucite Cabochon Figural Sea Turtle Necklace IIJJ#9396

A fabulous and highly unusual vintage Juliana (DeLizza & Elster) figural necklace featuring a large sculptural sea turtle pendant embellished with dramatic high-domed white Lucite cabochons.

A large smooth oval cabochon forms the center of the turtle's shell and is surrounded by smaller round white cabochons, creating a wonderfully dimensional domed surface. The turtle's head, four flippers, and tail are rendered in richly textured gold-tone metal, providing beautiful contrast against the clean white Lucite.

The generous scale and bold sculptural construction give this piece tremendous personality while retaining the playful quality found in some of DeLizza & Elster's most imaginative figural jewelry.

This design has particularly interesting Juliana provenance. It was first identified as a DeLizza & Elster design through an example from Frank DeLizza's collection, providing valuable documentation for this unusual figural.
