Vintage Juliana AB Geode Rhinestone Brooch Pendant IIJJ#9391

A striking vintage Juliana (DeLizza & Elster) convertible brooch and pendant centered with an unusual Aurora Borealis glass geode.

The large oval geode has a wonderfully fractured, crystalline appearance beneath its iridescent AB finish, reflecting flashes of pink, blue, green, lavender and gold as the light moves across it. A border of sparkling AB rhinestones surrounds the geode in a warm gold-tone setting.

The reverse is fitted with both a traditional pin mechanism and a pendant bail, allowing the piece to be worn either as a brooch or suspended from a chain.

Geode stones are a documented type of stone used by DeLizza & Elster. AB oval geodes are shown in Ann Pitman’s Juliana Jewelry Reference on page 86. Frank DeLizza discusses the company’s use of glass geodes in his book on pages 108 and 117, and geode stones are also featured on page 35 of Juliana Jewelry – The Last Generation.
