Vintage Swoboda Carnelian Pearl Gemstone Necklace Earrings Demi Parure

Striking vintage Swoboda necklace and matching clip earrings featuring genuine semi-precious gemstones and pearls set in richly textured gold-tone openwork.

The necklace is made from a series of articulated star-like openwork links, each set with colorful round cabochons in warm shades of orange, russet, wine, peach, taupe and gray, along with lustrous pearls. A large intricate openwork pendant forms the dramatic focal point, repeating the same gemstone-and-pearl design.

The matching earrings are equally impressive, with articulated openwork drops that echo the construction of the necklace.

Swoboda was particularly well known for incorporating genuine gemstones into its jewelry. The orange-red stones in this set appear to be carnelian, with additional natural gemstone cabochons in varying colors. The darker and neutral stones have not been independently gemologically tested, so I prefer not to over-identify them. The pearl accents appear to be genuine freshwater/cultured pearls.

Both components are signed SWOBODA — the necklace on the reverse of the pendant section and the earrings on the clips.

A wonderful example of Swoboda’s distinctive use of genuine gemstones, textured gold-tone metal and sculptural openwork construction. The unusually long necklace, large pendant and matching articulated earrings make this an especially striking Swoboda demi-parure.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with normal age-appropriate wear.
