This striking Vintage Juliana (DeLizza & Elster) brooch features one of the company's most distinctive specialty stone designs—the beautiful Blue Scooped Out Aurora Borealis cabochons. Their recessed centers create remarkable depth while the iridescent Aurora Borealis finish reflects brilliant flashes of blue, lavender, aqua, and gold with every movement.

Five luminous oval Scooped Out AB cabochons form the center of the brooch, accented by sparkling Aurora Borealis chatons and surrounded by an elegant wreath of smoky sapphire blue marquise rhinestones. The layered gold-tone construction gives the piece exceptional dimension and beautifully showcases DeLizza & Elster's outstanding craftsmanship and innovative use of specialty stones.

These unusual Scooped Out AB stones first appear in the 1963 DeLizza & Elster design books, where the collection was known as "Flying Saucers." Their unique optical effect and dramatic appearance have made them one of the most recognizable and desirable specialty stones among Juliana collectors.

Documented in the Is It Juliana Jewelry (IIJJ) Database as IIJJ #1174, this beautiful brooch is an excellent example of the imaginative designs that have made Juliana jewelry so highly sought after by collectors today.
