Vintage Chinese Neihua Inside Painted Glass Bead Necklace Birds Flowers Animals
A wonderful vintage Chinese Neihua, or inside-painted, glass bead necklace featuring a colorful collection of miniature birds, flowers, animals and nature scenes.
Each of the 34 large clear glass beads measures approximately 3/4 inch across. The decoration appears within the beads around a frosted/translucent inner core, giving the tiny hand-painted scenes wonderful depth when viewed through the clear outer glass.
The necklace is hand knotted between each bead and finished with small antiqued metal flower-form bead caps. A spring ring clasp secures the strand.
At approximately 32.5 inches long, this is a substantial necklace that can be worn as a long statement strand. No two decorated beads are exactly alike, so there is something new to discover all the way around the necklace.
It is in nice vintage condition, with light age-appropriate wear consistent with its age.
