Vintage 1940s Carved Wood Clear Lucite Horse Head Figural Brooch

Wonderful vintage horse-head brooch dating to approximately the 1940s, combining warm carved wood with clear Lucite accents.

The dimensional horse head is carved from wood with wonderful visible grain and sculpted details through the face, ear, neck and muzzle. A dramatic scalloped clear Lucite mane follows the back of the head, while a bright red Lucite eye adds a wonderful pop of color.

This combination of carved wood and early plastic gives the brooch a distinctive mid-century look and makes it especially appealing for collectors of vintage figural and equestrian jewelry.

The brooch is unsigned.

Measurements: approximately 3 x 3 inches.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. The carved wood, clear Lucite mane and red eye are intact. There is normal age-related wear consistent with a piece of this vintage. Please review all photographs carefully, including the reverse and pin mechanism, as they are part of the description.
