Design & Construction
The symmetrical wings use open areas within a gold-tone framework, accented by subtly textured white enamel. Warm orange, red, yellow, olive and green epoxy-style dots provide vivid contrast. The raised central body and patterned antennae help define the butterfly as a sculptural figural design.

Collector Significance & Reference
This brooch belongs to the same distinctive D&E butterfly design family as the blue enamel example illustrated on page 4 of Juliana Jewelry – The Last Generation. The color and enamel treatment make this white-winged example a useful comparison within that design family. The specific white butterfly is recorded in the Is It Juliana Jewelry (IIJJ) database as #4553.
